You are free to walk the museum on your own but if you would like to schedule a tour the Historical Electronics Museum offers a variety of tour options including a General Tour, Student Tours and Themed Tours. General Tour:
( Ages 10+) This tour consists of a brief overview of the museum and an introduction to the development of military defense electronics. The tour begins in the fundamentals gallery and ends in the space gallery, covering the developments of general electronics, radar, communications, countermeasures, sonar, and imagery. The tour lasts roughly 1-1.5 hours.

 


 

Student Tours: (Grades 3-8)
This tour is designed to comply with elementary and middle school science and history standards. The teacher/group leader will specify what topics will be covered in the tour, to coordinate with their studies. Each topic lasts thirty minutes and includes interactive or hands on activities. Themed Tours: (High School and Adult)
These tours cover history, military and technology themes, and are designed for those interested in a different perspective on developments in the field of defense electronics. The tours are themed as follows: Stories from the Front Lines (military history tour), Tragedies and Triumphs (biography tour), and Myths, Misconceptions and Melodramas (myths and legends tour). Additional Information:

Price: There is no charge to book/reserve a tour at HEM!

Parking: There is ample parking around the museum. There are two lots adjoining the museum and additional parking space across the street. The museum is also handicapped accessible.

Food Services: The museum does not have a cafeteria on-site. If you would like to bring bag lunches, an area for eating can be provided. There are also many restaurants near the museum.

Confirmation Policy: Please confirm your reservation two weeks prior to the tour date.

Cancellation Policy: We understand that emergencies occur, however, please notify of the museum of a cancellation at least 24 hours before the tour date.
