From telegraph and radio to radar and satellites, the HEM offers visitors free access to the electronic marvels that have helped to shape our country and our world. Located within minutes of Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport and the BWI Rail Station, the museum offers a wide variety of both static and interactive displays, as well as a research and lending library that is open to the general public, with holdings that focus on all aspects of electronics history. Media format includes videotapes, manuals, books and journals. We also have an archive of historical photographs and documents that are available for legitimate research projects. Click here to see an Adobe pdf showing the layout of the HEM!
You are free to walk the museum on your own, or to schedule a tour, call 410-765-0230 two weeks in advance. Tours last approximately 1-2 hours depending on group size and age level. Besides our wide variety of displays, we also have a complete amateur radio station, W3GR, fully equipped with vintage and modern communications systems.  Learn about "ham" radio, or even take lessons and get your own amateur radio license!    >>>>> Have you heard about YESS -- the Young Engineers and Scientists Seminar lecture series, sponsored by the HEM under a grant from the Northrop Grumman Litton Foundation? in order to visit the official YESS Web site!
